As the Technology & Media Chair of the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College (NAASC) Columbia, MD chapter, thousands have engaged with the content Amanda produced across the chapter’s social media platforms. The largest social media engagement being the short-form content she created. Amanda's efforts have been in alignment with the digital standards and procedures set forth by the National NAASC. As the sole member of the Technology and Media Committee, she developed and managed the chapter’s digital footprint, while maintaining the security posture and integrity of their platforms.
Amanda organized and led workshops for NAASC's girl’s mentoring group, recruited at the largest HBCU college fair in Maryland, and volunteered for several community service projects in the chapter. Amanda outsourced digitizing NAASC Columbia, MD memorabilia to ensure the chapter’s legacy continued to be shared. She collaborated with the Executive Committee to remediate issues and ensure accuracy of information within the chapter.
Amanda has been a consistent donor of Spelman College for over 20 years.
"Amanda is making Anne Arundel County “The Best Place - For All” by championing diversity and inclusion in every aspect of her volunteer and professional work. First, through initiatives like the Women Who Vote event and her involvement in various schools, she creates spaces where women and girls, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds, feel empowered and valued in civic and STEM fields. Second, as the Chair of the Women’s Health Committee, Amanda prioritizes accessible mental health resources and community-building efforts, ensuring that residents from diverse backgrounds can access supportive, inclusive services. Her efforts embody the spirit of a community that uplifts and includes everyone."
